Integrity or Compromise

I went to the Walgreens a couple of weeks ago and to my dismay they are no longer accepting internet coupons. When I asked why the clerk explained to me because of so much internet coupon fraud the company is losing money and they had to put a stop to it. Also, I heard that Manhattan does not allow internet coupons as well. I am sure it is because of this reason. People can not afford to lose money because they can not recover the money. We have to remember that just as we would like to save money our merchants have to make money to service us and stay in business. I want to give a few examples of how not to coupon because some might not think there is a problem with there different techniques in getting discounts with coupons.
1. Making copies of coupons  is totally illegal. When you print a coupon off of a web-site and you reached the max amount of prints (that they all do) than that is it. NO COPIES!!!

2.Counterfeit Internet Coupons  common home technology such as computer scanners and graphic design programs have multiplied the counterfeit coupon effect. These common computer hardware and programs make reproducing coupons easy, and email and online auction sites offer simple distribution as well as a financial incentive to create the counterfeit coupons.
Using counterfeit coupons is against the law just as using counterfeit money would be. Ignorance is not a legitimate excuse, so it pays to keep your eyes open for counterfeit coupon offers.

Tips to Avoid a Scam
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has a page of Facts for Consumers featuring “Costly Coupon Scams.” Read more about coupon scams, how to avoid them, and how to report them when you find one.  Here are a few tips the FTC has for identifying a scam:
Be cautious of anything that says the following:
  • No risk involved!
  • Big profits! High income! Amazing savings quick!
  • You must act now!
  • You just can’t miss this opportunity!
Anything that guarantees no risk and high profits, and pressures you into taking action is likely a scam.  It’s always better to be safe anyways, so even if it does look legitimate do your research!

In conclusion we all need to save money. The companies and merchants we buy from also need to make money to stay in business so lets work together in being an example to everyone around us.
